What to do in the event of a claim?

  • Make sure you and any passengers in your vehicle are safe.
  • If there are any serious injuries to any party involved, please call the emergency services.
  • Take full details of the other vehicles involved, including name and contact details, vehicle details and insurance details.
  • Take photos of all vehicles involved including the position of them, the damage to the vehicles and if possible capture the registration of the vehicle in these pictures.
  • Obtain details of any witnesses to the incident.
  • Ring us on 0800 9 538 566 as soon as it is safe to do so, to start the claims process.

We are open 24/7 365 days a year, to assist you in the event of a claim and get you back on the road.

Motor Legal Expenses

If you were involved in a non-fault accident where there are reasonable prospects of success your insurance would not provide any compensation for:

  • Personal Injury and loss of earnings*
  • Repair costs to your vehicle if you don’t have comprehensive cover*
  • Out of pocket expenses such as:
    • Telephone calls*
    • Transport costs*
    • Items that may have been damaged in the accident*

Motor Legal expenses insurance will provide you with access to up to £100,000 of legal costs incurred by an appointed solicitor or their agent to pursue compensation for the above. You would keep 100% of any award made to you by the third party insurer.

Many solicitors will offer a ‘no win no fee’ arrangement and may look to deduct up to 25% of any compensation you may be awarded. For example £500 would be deducted from a £2000 award
