Third Party Insurance Only
Third Party Only Insurance
Third Party Only insurance is the most basic level of cover, and the minimum required by law in the UK. In an insurance claim, the first and second parties relate to the insurance company and the driver, and the third party is the person or persons to whom injuries or damages to property have occurred. In the case of an accident third party claimants can be passengers of the policy holder or persons outside of the policy holder’s vehicle but who were injured as a result of the policy holder’s actions. Third party insurance is usually offered fairly cheaply as the insurance company is not responsible for any first party injury or damages. A Third Party insurance policy usually covers:
- Injuries to the third party;
- Damages to property belonging to the third party.
Third Party Only insurance does not cover:
- Injuries to the policy holder;
- Damages to the policy holder’s property.
